Heathrow Airport

Chauffeur & Group Transfers at Heathrow Airport

Heathrow is the UK’s busiest airport and, for many visitors, the first impression of London. Covent Group Travel arranges chauffeur and group transfers to and from all four of its passenger terminals, using executive cars for individuals and minibuses or coaches for larger parties.

Every journey is booked as an enquiry. Share your flight number, terminal, passenger numbers and destination, and the team will confirm availability and a quote before anything is fixed.

HEATHROW TRANSFERS

Chauffeur and Group Transfers at Heathrow

Heathrow sits on the western edge of Greater London, in the London Borough of Hillingdon, and handles a constant flow of long-haul and short-haul flights. Travellers arriving after an overnight flight often want a direct, private journey rather than navigating trains with luggage, while organisers bringing in delegations need a group to leave the airport together.

We cater for both. A solo executive might be met in a Mercedes-Benz S-Class, a family in a V-Class, and a conference party in a 32-seater coach. Whatever the size of the party, the plan is built around your flight details and confirmed by the team in advance.

TERMINALS

Heathrow Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5

Heathrow currently operates four passenger terminals; Terminal 1 closed in 2015. Knowing your terminal is essential, as they are spread across a large site.

  • Terminal 2 (The Queen's Terminal) and Terminal 3 sit together in the central terminal area, reached by road through the airport's main tunnel.
  • Terminal 4 is on the southern side of the airfield, approached separately from the Southern Perimeter Road.
  • Terminal 5 is at the western end of the airport, with its own road access close to the M25.

Airlines occasionally change terminals, so please check the terminal on your booking confirmation and include it in your enquiry.

PICKUP AND DEPARTURES

Planning Your Heathrow Pickup or Drop-Off

For arrivals, the pickup point is agreed when the booking is confirmed. Heathrow manages forecourts and car parks closely, and pickup arrangements for minibuses and coaches can differ from those for cars, so the team will explain where to meet your driver for your terminal and vehicle.

A named meet-and-greet at arrivals can be requested; let the team know and they will confirm what can be arranged. For departures, tell us your flight time and allow generous time for traffic on the M4 and M25 as well as check-in and security, particularly for long-haul flights and groups. Heathrow applies its own drop-off and parking charges, and the team will explain how these affect your quote.

HEATHROW TO CENTRAL LONDON

Routes Between Heathrow and Central London

Heathrow is roughly 15 miles west of central London. The most common road route follows the M4 and A4 through Chiswick and Hammersmith, then along Cromwell Road towards Kensington, Knightsbridge and the West End. For the City, Canary Wharf or East London, drivers may instead use the A40 or the M25 and orbital routes, depending on conditions.

Journey times are traffic dependent and can vary considerably with the time of day, roadworks and weather. Typically, weekday peak periods into central London take noticeably longer than early mornings or late evenings, so we never guarantee a journey time. For departures, the team will suggest a sensible collection time based on your flight and destination.

HOTELS AND BUSINESS

Hotel and Corporate Transfers from Heathrow

Many Heathrow arrivals head straight to a hotel, whether in the West End, Kensington, the City or one of the hotels around the airport itself. We arrange hotel transfers for individual guests and for groups checking in together, and can collect on behalf of a hotel or host company.

For businesses, we support corporate travel such as visiting executives, project teams and conference delegates. Corporate bookers can send several arrivals at once, and the team will confirm how they are grouped across vehicles. For delegates heading to a venue, see our conference and exhibition transport.

LUGGAGE AND FLIGHTS

Sharing Flight and Luggage Details

The most useful thing you can send is your flight number, as it tells us the airline, the scheduled time and usually the terminal. Please also give the lead passenger's name and a mobile number that will work on arrival.

Long-haul travellers to Heathrow often carry more luggage than they would on a short trip, so describe the number and size of bags, plus pushchairs, sports equipment or mobility aids. We do not quote fixed luggage capacities; instead the team checks your details against the vehicle and confirms whether it is suitable or whether a larger vehicle or second car is advisable. If your flight changes after booking, contact the team as soon as possible.

Questions

Heathrow Airport Transfer FAQs

Which Heathrow terminals do you cover?

We arrange transfers to and from all four Heathrow passenger terminals: Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Is Terminal 1 still in use?

No. Heathrow Terminal 1 closed in 2015. Flights now use Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Where will I meet my driver at Heathrow?

The pickup point depends on your terminal and vehicle. The team will confirm the meeting arrangements when your booking is confirmed.

How long does it take to get from Heathrow to central London?

It is traffic dependent. The journey is typically shorter early in the morning or late in the evening and longer at weekday peak times, so we do not guarantee journey times.

Yes. Minibuses and coaches can be arranged for groups. Share passenger numbers, flights and luggage details and the team will confirm a plan and quote.

Can I request a meet-and-greet at arrivals?

A meet-and-greet can be requested. Mention it in your enquiry and the team will confirm what can be arranged.
